Hey everyone,

I've been told it's best to overcommunicate, especially when dealing with other people's expectations and money and trust.  So I'm trying to find the balance somewhere between overcommunicating and just  being a pest. But also sometimes I get excited.

AND RIGHT NOW, I'M EXCITED!!!

Everything is coming together really well and everything is on schedule. Layout is progressing nicely and I'm seeing art come rolling in from Brett and Dan, and Bob is getting me the Stretch Goal #1 content today, which I'll do an edit pass on (although for real... he's such a good writer, he makes my job super easy) and then send it to Raven for layout.

This has been such a great project and I can't wait for everyone to see it. I hope you all love it as much as I do. We've started planning out Heroic Adventure! #2 - Vault of the Murderworm and we'll have more info on that one later.  Finally, for DCC Day (2025) we'll have two goodies in the box for stores which will be revealed in time (but here's a hint... one of them is a crazy adventure!!)

Final Stretch Goal
We're currently about ~107 dollars from the final stretch goal! This is the Bonus content from Bob that we talked about before. This is the stuff that can be usable by GMs outside of Evil Never Dies. You guys overwhelmingly voted to keep it as part of the book, rather than as a separate doc later on. We're SOOOO CLOSE!!!  I really want to see this happen, and you do too (even if you don't know it yet.)

So lets get there and then I can focus on the final week push. If the gang has time, I'll see if I can round everyone up for another zoom livestream for the final day, and maybe we can push this sucker into overtime mode.

One more thing...
Planet of the Cyclops Con is this weekend and Bob is running TWO playtest sessions of Heroic Adventure! #1 - Evil Never Dies, so if you ever wanted to game with the author of a module you bought... here's a great opportunity! Also, this is a virtual con so no need to travel anywhere!!

Timeline: what's done, what's in progress, when to expect it.

Hi everyone!

I recently updated the Shipping section of the project, but figured I'd save everyone a trip.

Here's where everything stands as of today. (If there's dot next to it, it's done.)


  • The manuscript is complete.
  • Additional town content from Stretch Goal #2 is in progress, to be done by mid November.
  • Editing and review process is complete.
    Layout process is in progress, to be done by end of November.
    Post-Layout review can take up to a week. Files hit printer by early December.
    Digital fulfillment happens when files go to the printer by early December.
  • Cover art and interior art are complete
  • Additional art from Dan (Stretch Goal #2) is complete.
  • All 4 maps (3+Bonus) by Bob are complete and submitted to our Cartographer (Brett).
  • First map (Crypt of the Chrono-lich) final art is complete.
  • Second map (The Holding of Elaro the Necromancer) final art is complete.
    Third map (Merchant Guild of Emerson) final art is in progress, to be ready by end of November.
    Fourth map final art should be ready by mid-December.
    Poster maps should be at the printer by mid-December.

We expect everything to be complete on our end by mid-December, with fulfillment beginning in January.

Here's a peek at the first two completed maps and the third in progress. (These are NOT final scans. Just low quality preview shots.)



We only have one stretch goal left, so if you guys want the extra content, we need to get the word out and unlock that final goal.

Stretch Goal #6 UNLOCKED!! Revealing the next goal. A new holiday.

Hi everyone!

I hope none of you get tired of being thanked, because I'm here to say THANK YOU!! (again). You did it. Stretch Goal #6 has been unlocked.

Tell 'em what they've won...
Stretch Goal #6 unlocks more art for the book, and not just "more art" but awesome creature art from Dan Smith for each stat block!! Bob's a great writer, and his descriptions paint a heck of a picture, but Dan's a great artist and having a picture you can show your players is pretty awesome too. Especially since Bob tends to create things that don't exist anywhere else. (You should see his art requests... great reading.)

What's Next?
Stretch Goal #7 was our Super Secret Final Stretch Goal that we kind of assumed we'd never hit, BUT... you all have been killing it so far, and with just over 2 weeks to go, it seems like there's a good shot at unlocking it. Bob has some additional content that he wants to do (I'm telling you his brain literally never stops coming up with cool stuff) so here it is:



We added a poll to the previous update, asking if we should stick to the existing timeline and make the bonus material available digitally after we fulfill your pledges - OR - should we push fulfillment back (a little) and incorporate it into the book? The response was overwhelmingly in favor of making it part of the book, even if it means pushing back fulfillment by 3-4 weeks. So that's the plan.

I'm not going to update the timeline (under the Shipping heading) just yet though because honestly, Bob's pretty fast and if he can knock it out without disrupting the timeline, he will. That's OUR goal. 

So thank you again, everyone, for being awesome! We absolutely could not do this without your help.
